Atlanta - 1B Bai Ling is tied for first in the NL with 4 HR's, is second in RBI's with 13, and is sixth in hitting with a .370 average. Ling's has hit 4 of the Vixens' 9 HR's on the season. Atlanta is tied for third in the VBL with a .272 average. Despite a good start by first round pick, P Beth Ostronsky (2-1, 2.66 ERA, 20.1 IP), the team is 15th in the VBL with a 5.00 ERA.
Los Angeles - It is an understatement to say that the Amazons' bats have been cold so far this season. They are last in the VBL with a .220 average and last in runs scored with 29. 2B Leah Remini, their second round draft pick, is hitting only .171 and has 14 K's in 41 AB's. P Vanessa Paradis has been a bright spot - she has a 2.59 ERA through 24.1 IP's.
Miami Beach - First round draft pick, LF Jo O'Meara has lived up to the hype so far. In 44 AB's. she is hitting a scorching .477, has 4 HR's, and 10 RBI's. She has struck out only 4 times. With help from C Julia Roberts who is also hitting over .400, (.421), the Flamingos lead the VBL in hitting with a .294 mark. The pitching staff has held their opponents to the lowest average in the league, .234.
Philadelphia - At 8-3, the Liberty Belles have the best mark in the VBL. Starters Ione Skye (1.59) and Amanda Swisten (1.38) have ERA's below 2.00 to lead the way. The starters are gobbling up the innings - relievers have only pitched 13 innings in the 11 games. Closer Julianne Moore has saved 5 of the 8 victories.
Phoenix - CF Ziyi Zhang leads the team in hitting with a .432 average. The third round pick has a .475 on-base percentage. C Paula Abdul was hitting a sub-Mendoza .120 (3-25) before being put on waivers. She is currently waiting on assignment after clearing waivers. The Firebirds have made numerous changes to their roster already this season, including 7 free agent signings, and the 8 promotions to their major league roster.
Sacramento - C Ali Larter is 10-16 in her last 5 games for a .625 average. For the year, she is hitting .364. On the opposite end of the spectrum, 3B Amber Smith is 3-26 (.115) in her last seven.
St. Louis - The Unicorns are off to a rough start at 2-9. First round pick, 2B Cleopatra Higgins, is doing her best - she is hitting .395, 4th in the NL, and has 4 HR's. Now if someone could get on base in front of her - even with those 4 homers, she has only 7 RBI's. Pitching has been okay, but the team's batting average is a dismal .227 (15th in the VBL.)
Seattle - Pitching has been solid for the 6-4 Emeralds - they lead the VBL with a team ERA of 2.64. If they maintain and can get some hitters on track, they may challenge for the West Division's crown. 1B Andrea Corr leads the hitters with a .351 average; the only other hitter over .300 is SS Portia de Rossi at .316.
